♠8 If your answer is ♥K, it is not bad as it will setup 2 heart tricks and reduce the entry to South's hand. However, it is not good enough for the case. After declarerer found that the uneven break of clubs he can have the alternative to develop the spade for the contract. Now come to the analysis: South is clearly holds ♠QX, he has removed the ♣A entry before touching the spade which implies that he has a strong club and does not need to develop spades. By attacking the spades, it forces declarer to make decision before he discovered that the club break is bad.
